Frequently Asked Questions
-
What are your daycare hours?
Our daycare operates from 6 AM to 7:30 PM, with late pick available upon request until 8 PM. Late pickups may incur an additional fee. Please contact us ahead of time if you're running late.
-
Do I need a reservation for daycare or boarding?
Yes! Reservations are required to ensure we have space for your pup. Boarding especially fills up quickly during holidays and school breaks, so we recommend booking as early as possible. Our reservations are online via the client portal.
-
What should I bring for my dog’s boarding stay?
We recommend bringing your dog’s food pre-portioned by meal, any medications (clearly labeled), and optional comfort items like a small blanket (with the oet’s name on it). We provide bedding and bowls. Please avoid bringing valuable or sentimental items.
-
Can I tour your facility?
Absolutely! Tours are welcome by appointment. Use the button to schedule the best day and time for our meet and greet. Please note that you and your pup must come to this meeting so we can evaluate his/her behavior.
-
What vaccinations are required?
We require all dogs to be up to date on rabies, distemper/parvo (DHPP), and bordetella. A recent negative fecal test every 6 months is also required for daycare and boarding. Proof of vaccination must be submitted before your dog's stay.
-
I uploaded the Vaccines But I'm Unable to Book
If you're having trouble booking immediately after uploading your vaccine records, it’s because our team needs to manually review and approve the files. This process usually takes up to 24 hours. If you need to make a booking right away, please text us at 352-570-0887, and we’ll expedite the review as soon as possible.
For a smooth approval process, ensure that your vaccine records clearly show the "due dates" or "reminders" for upcoming vaccinations. We cannot accept records without these details, nor can we rely on verbal assurances of expiration dates. It's essential to request the correct documentation from your vet's office, as they know exactly what we need for boarding.

Hungry or Thirsty
It's not uncommon for pets to come home from Jazz's acting as though they haven’t been fed in a week. Rest assured, your pup has been well-fed and hydrated during their stay with us. Dogs often eat and drink less in new environments due to the excitement and activity levels. When they return home, they might feel extra hungry and thirsty, which is why they may eat or drink more than usual.
To help your dog adjust, we recommend letting them rest and settle in before offering food. Start with ice cubes instead of water to avoid upsetting their stomach, and gradually reintroduce their regular meals. Their appetite and hydration levels should return to normal fairly quickly as they get back into their routine.
-
Can dogs from the same family stay together?
Yes, dogs from the same household can stay in the same suite if preferred. Let us know your preference when booking.
-
Why Is My Dog So Tired?
Has your dog come home and spent a lot of time sleeping? While this may be concerning, it's actually quite common. Just like people, dogs can have disrupted sleep in unfamiliar environments.
The excitement of new sights, smells, and activities at Jazz's can be stimulating and tiring. As a result, your pup may need extra rest to recover from all the new experiences they enjoyed during their stay. It’s perfectly normal for them to catch up on sleep once they’re back in the comfort of their own home.
-
Do I Really Need to Prepack All the Food?
Yes, pre-packing your dog's food in individual ziplock bags is essential. This ensures your pup gets the correct amount of food for each meal during their stay. By labeling each bag with your dog’s name, we can easily follow their feeding schedule and avoid any confusion.
When owners provide a large bag of food, it can be time-consuming for our team to sort through. Prepacking and labeling each meal helps us maintain accuracy and ensures your dog’s dietary needs are met throughout their stay.
-
Does My Dog Need a Name Tag On?
While having some form of ID on your dog is important, we don’t recommend using dangling name tags on collars. These can sometimes get caught or fall off during their stay.
Instead, we suggest using a name plate, which attaches directly to the collar and stays securely in place, or opting for collars with the dog’s name embroidered on them or engraved on the buckle. These options keep the ID safely attached to the collar without the risk of it becoming lost.
Additionally, we advise against using rabies tags on collars, as they do not include the dog's name and we are unable to figure out who lost them. -
Will I Get Photos or Videos During the Stay?
We post daily photos and videos of the fun pups in our care on our social media, so we encourage all pet owners to follow us online to enjoy the daily adventures!
We understand how important it is to receive updates during boarding, so we also send photos every other day as a complimentary service, at our discretion and at the staff’s earliest convenience. During busy seasons, there might be a few extra days between updates—but don’t worry!
For those who would like more personalized updates, we now offer paid report cards for $10 per day. These include a tailored summary of your pup’s stay along with extra photos, sent directly to you.
We maintain an open line of communication with our clients and encourage owners who are missing their pups to reach out via text at 352-570-0887 for more frequent updates on their furry friends!
-
I forgot My Items, Can I get them Next Time?
No problem, we understand that things can get forgotten! However, we can only hold onto lost items for up to 2 weeks after the pick-up date.
Due to the need to accommodate our daily pups, we can’t store items for longer than that. Please make sure to come back within the 2-week period to retrieve any forgotten belongings.

My Dog Has Never Been Inside a Crate
At Jazz's Wonderland, we use spacious crates that vary from 3ft by 4ft up to 5ft by 4ft, providing plenty of room for movement, a bed, bowls, and even for siblings to share the space. The only times during the day that pups are in their individual crates are during meal breaks—breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The rest of the time, they’re out playing and socializing in our yards.
If you’re unsure whether this setup will suit your dog, we recommend starting with a half day of daycare, then progressing to a full day, and eventually boarding. Dogs are quick learners and respond well to positive reinforcement. Associating crate time with meals makes the experience enjoyable for them. Since dogs are pack animals, they often follow the lead of their friends, which can help them adjust to the routine.
However, we understand that this setup may not be ideal for every dog, and we’re upfront about it. If your pup isn’t adjusting well to the breaks or routine, we’ll contact you right away to discuss other options and, if needed, suggest a different facility that might better suit your dog’s needs.

Please feel free to reach out at any time during your furry friend's stay to check in on how they're doing!

Why does the price in grooming varies?
Our grooming services have starting prices because each dog is unique, and the time, effort, and resources required can vary greatly. Factors like your pup’s size, coat condition, the presence of mats or fleas, and even behavioral challenges during grooming can all impact the final cost.
We list starting prices to give you a general idea, but the actual price may differ depending on your dog’s specific needs. If you’d like a more accurate estimate, feel free to send us a photo of your pup—we’re happy to provide a personalized quote!
-
Why is my 50 lb doodle considered an XL for grooming?
Great question! Grooming prices are based on the size of the dog, not just their weight. While your doodle might weigh only 50 lbs, many doodles are tall, fluffy, and have a large surface area to groom. This means more coat to wash, dry, brush, and trim—which takes more time and effort from our groomers.
That’s why we consider overall size, including height, width, and coat type—not just weight—when determining pricing. If you're ever unsure which size your pup falls into, feel free to send us a photo and we’ll be happy to help clarify!
-
How do I book a grooming appointment?
You can book grooming appointments by texting us at 352-570-0887 or through our online booking portal.
-
What happens if my dog is matted or has fleas?
We take your dog’s comfort and safety seriously. If your dog arrives with mats or fleas, additional charges will apply due to the extra care and time needed. In severe cases, a shave-down may be the safest option. We’ll always communicate with you before making any major grooming decisions.
-
Do you groom doodles, poodles, or double-coated breeds?
Yes, we do! These breeds often require specialty cuts and extra brushing time, so please note that additional charges may apply depending on the coat condition and style requested.
-
Do you accept all breeds and temperaments?
We welcome all breeds, but every dog must pass a behavior evaluation to ensure group safety. If your dog has a history of aggression or reactivity, please let us know in advance so we can determine the best fit.
-
Are dogs supervised at all times?
Yes, all group play and boarding areas are monitored by trained staff at all times. We prioritize safety and positive play experiences through proper supervision and structured group interactions.
-
What happens if my dog gets sick or injured?
Your dog’s health is our priority. If an issue arises, we will contact you right away. We work closely with local vets and can take your dog in for care if needed. Emergency contacts are required for all boarding dogs. We are proud to be the only facility in town with a Pet Tech CPR and First Aid Instructor on site, and our staff is Pet Tech Pet Saver certified, ensuring that your pup is in trained, capable hands at all times.
